2024 Winter Poetry Workshop

Who: 5th-12th graders enrolled at Faith Academy, Philippines
Where: Antipolo, Philippines
When: December 27-28 and 30, from 1-4 PM
What: A three-day poetry workshop for students to learn and practice writing, which will culminate in a poetry recital on the 30th.

Have you ever wanted to write poetry, but been unsure of where to start? Do you write poetry occasionally, but wish you knew more about how to improve? Are you an experienced poet who wants to find a community of fellow writers? No matter how much practice you have with poetry, this workshop is for you!

After the success of the 2023 Winter Poetry Workshop, we will again take 3 days to study and improve in the craft of poetry. Students will read poems by experts in sound, imagery, and form. They will write their own poems using the same skills. And finally, the workshop will culminate in a poetry recital for friends and family, which will give students the chance to practice sharing their poems.

This workshop is geared toward middle and high school students in the Faith Academy community. The workshop will take place off campus, but we will have a pick-up and drop-off from Faith Academy’s campus each day for those who live nearby. Other details about time and place will be given closer to the time of the workshop.
